the patient

Jack fell off the swingset yesterday. He was climbing up the ladder to the slide and fell backwards from the top. I think he landed with his whole weight on his right shoulder on top of a 2 x 4 that is bracing the angled beam of the set. It was pretty awful. He was screaming and crying and his eyes wouldn't focus for a bit... Ugh. We went right in to the Doctor's office and Dr. Carly saw us right away. Since Jack already has an extreme aversion to the DOCTOR, you can imagine how much fun that visit was. She left the room to give me time to calm him down. Not even the purple glove balloon made him smile. She did eventually come back and noted his range and looked him over pretty good, as much as he would let her, and said instead of getting an x-ray we should keep a close eye on him and how he uses his arm in the next week. His 3-year appointment is next Wednesday anyway so she'll check him over again then. He's pretty sore today and doing certain activities make him say, "Ouch! My arm!" So. We'll see. It was a sad day yesterday, especially when I had to leave for work.

But. Moving on:

Anna's doing great. She was as happy as a clam out in the sun yesterday.
